Helmet Issues

When creating the helmet I ran into some issues such as bridging the jaw piece with the back of the helmet. My problem with the bridging is when I select the matching edges from the jaw to the back it will let me not bridge it. Even though I change the amount of edges so it can be equal it will still not let me bridge it.
